Dr. Ryan C. Shuck is a native of Central Virginia. After traveling and living in several different places, while in undergrad, Dr. Shuck fell in love with Virginia Beach and the OBX due to his passion for the ocean and surfing. During undergrad, he became intrigued with dentistry when he and his brother provided dental services during the Missions of Mercy event on the Eastern Shore of Virginia. 

He attended Christopher Newport University, graduated with a B.S. in Business Administration Management, and received his D.D.S from The University of Michigan School of Dentistry. As a proud member of Virginia Dental Association, American Dental Association, and Academy of General Dentistry, and an Implant Pathways alum, he takes every opportunity to learn and advance his knowledge of dentistry. 

After meeting Dr. Dorfman through a mutual friend in the surfing community, they realized they had several things in common, one of them being their careers in dentistry. After getting to know each other over several years, Drs. Dorfman and Horwitz thought Dr. Shuck would be a great addition to The Art of Dentistry team. Dr. Shuck’s goals at The Art of Dentistry is to treat patients with care and compassion while delivering high quality dental work.

When Dr. Shuck is not practicing, he is enjoying life with his wife and two daughters. They love spending their time between the mountains and the ocean. With his passion for the ocean and surfing, Dr. Shuck is a Surfrider Foundation member. He takes great pride in protecting and advocating for the environment and the beaches we all enjoy.
