Debby Knauer, an Illinois native, moved to Hampton Roads in 1984. Graduating from Old Dominion University in 1991 with a BS in Dental Hygiene, she has been in the dental career for 27 years.

Married to Carl Knauer, they have been together for 26 years and even met thanks to dentistry. She is a loving mother of two sons: Steven, another Old Dominion graduate, and Ryan, a soon to be college freshman. She also has a love for animals, having two cats and two dogs at home. Even though one of the dogs belongs to her oldest son, her family is not complete without the whole pack.

Debby has been with Dr. Horwitz & Dr. Dorfman’s dental team for nine years. She truly enjoys creating a personal relationship with her patients and educating them on the importance of improving and maintaining their dental health.
